The Lion of the Week is Tim Murphy. He resides with his wife Angela, and two daughters, Morgan and Paige at 2246 Oakleaf Drive in Franklin.

Tim Murphy grew up in Watertown, Tennessee, where his family still resides. After graduating from High School he went on to Middle Tennessee State University and obtained a degree in mass communications and public relations. He started working at the newspaper in Murfreesboro, where he met his wife, the former Angela Peace of Lawrenceville, Virginia. It was one of the first jobs for each of them.

They have two daughters, Morgan and Paige, who are students at Page Middle School. Angela is a full time homemaker and mother. She is active in school and sporting activities. The family enjoys outdoor activities and spends a lot of time at Center Hill Lake where they keep a boat.

Tim was active in athletics and both his daughters are active in athletics. He is fortunate that his parents are both still alive and healthy, and still living in Watertown. His father is retired from Textron, formerly AVCO, in Nashville. His parents often come to attend athletic events and other activities that Morgan and Paige participate in

Tim is now a partner in Capital Trust Wealth Management, a wealth management firm.. He has become a certified market technician (CMT). The firm helps people manage their financial assets..

Tim joined the Lions club sometime around 1994 or 1995 and has been active in many areas of the club. His first office was as Lion Tamer, and he has gone on to serve as Vice President and President. He was one of the early co-chairs with Brad Veevers of Franklin on the Fourth He has served as the White Cane chairman for the whole district 12-I. He currently serves on the Board as the second year board member.

He served for six years as a member of the board of directors for United Way of Williamson County. He is Chairman of that Board this year. He also serves on the Board of My Friends House. In United Way he has been able to observe that the needs in the County are great and that they far exceed the money available to meet the needs.. The family attends the Thompson Station Church where Tim serves on the budget and finance committee.

Tim says that he enjoys the fellowship in the Lions Club. He says he tries to get to know people in other organizations. Someone once told him that you have to observe and learn from other peoples mistakes because you don't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself.

Our club has been blessed by Tim's faithful participation and service.
