John Scoble is the Lion of the Week for the week of August 13-21, 2006.
John grew up in Tennessee and Northern Alabama. His father was employed by the Boy Scouts of
America and the family frequently moved. He graduated from High School in Huntsville
Alabama, and then graduated from Tennessee Tech.
John is a self employed independent rep for three companies that specialize in bank marketing.
The companies provide bank services for fee based programs such as value added checking and
target marketing. John covers the entire South East and South West areas and frequently travels.
Pictured here is the Scoble family. John met his wife, Jennifer, when they were at Tennessee
Tech. Jennifer, works in the Mid Market Division for Compupay, a payroll company. She is a native of
Kingston Springs, Tennessee. Their daughter, Anne-Marie, received the Jim
Stephenson scholarship last year and is a sophomore at the University of Tennessee. Their son,
Grant, is 16 and will be a junior at Centennial High School this year.
John is active in the community. He is on the Board of Habitat for Humanity and the Board of
Community Outreach Ministries. The Scobles are members of the First United Methodist Church
of Franklin.
John has been a member of the Lions Club for 7 years. John is a past President of the club,
and has served as chairman of the Lion's Pride Breakfast. Currently he is chairman of the
Membership Committee.
When asked what he would say about
himself to Lions, John says " I hope I have helped some people in my life!"
John has helped many people and is the embodiment of the Lion's slogan, "We Serve!"
