The Franklin Lions Club is a service organization that supports our community. As you are
probably aware, Lions programs in Franklin include vision screening of young children,
provision of eye exams and glasses for needy persons, support for the Leader Dog Program,
support for the Tennessee School for the Blind, support for the world wide program to prevent
blindness and collection of used eyeglasses for use in under developed countries.
In addition to these and many other services, we support the Ed Lindsey Industries for the Blind (ELIB). This
organization runs a manufacturing facility in Nashville that provides employment and employment training for blind and
severely vision impaired people in the area. Among their products, and the ones that Lions clubs
market, are brooms and mops. These are good quality products, made with natural broom straw
and cotton mop rope. Prices are as follows:
If you would like to support this program by purchasing any of these items, please let me know
and I will arrange to deliver the items at your convenience.
