Each year, on the 4th of July, the Franklin Lions Club presents Franklin on the Fourth.
It is a celebration of the freedom we have enjoyed since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Franklin on the Fourth is an Annual Summertime Festival held on the Public Square in historic downtown Franklin complete with multiple stages, children's activities, crafts, vendor booths, great food and a nearby fireworks finale. The Children's Patriotic Costumed Parade is open to children ages 12 and below. Rules are simple: patriotic theme for costumes, parents and pets are permitted to accompany children, decorated non-motorized vehicles, such as wagons, bikes, strollers, etc. are welcome. Flags are encouraged. The Kid's Zone features a variety of large inflatable activities, rock climbing wall, bungee jump, a petting zoo, pony rides and more. Crafts vendors setup their unique wares along with exhibits from locals groups, businesses, and organizations along with other displays. There is a food court along with various drink stands located throughout the festival to quench that summertime thirst. Additionally, various downtown eateries are open. For the grand finale, Franklin on the Fourth ends with a bang with our spectacular fireworks show brought to you by the City of Franklin. Come join the fun as we celebrate our nation's independence in Historic Downtown Franklin!
